Later this year, the UK will host the Rugby World Cup at \u201cthe home of English rugby,\u201d Twickenham Stadium. With the eyes of the world soon on the stadium, the marketing team at Twickenham sought updates for the building\u2019s concrete exterior.

\nAntalis<\/a>, European products distributor, states \u201cBeing such a landmark on the sporting stage, Twickenham stadium is constantly looking for ways to maximize its presence and promote its significance as a historic sporting venue for international rugby,\u201d according to a blog post the team posted regarding the project earlier this year.
\n
\nThe marketing team at Twickenham collaborated with Service Graphics<\/a>, UK visual communications specialists, to transform the concrete stadium exterior into something much more inviting. To strengthen the stadium\u2019s identity, a series of vertical banners were printed on KAPA\u00aetech, supplied by Antalis, and attached to the 51, 105 foot, vertical columns that envelop the stadium.

\nThe team needed a material that was strong enough to withstand exterior elements, lightweight and malleable to allow ease of fabrication and then installation. Antalis states, \u201cService Graphics were alerted to KAPA\u00aetech, a new and innovative lightweight foam board ideal for exterior applications. With its pioneering composition of Polyurethane foam core and aluminum skins, KAPA\u00aetech provided the rigidity John was looking for while remaining extremely light in weight.\u201d

\n\"Twickenham<\/a>John Bayly, Account Director \u2013Sport at Service Graphics further explains that although KAPA\u00aetech was \u201cthe substrate we were looking for\u201d the product hadn\u2019t officially launched in the UK at this time. Working with our UK team, production was started regardless of the date, especially for this installation.

\nAntalis supplied and fabricated the material to adhere to the tight time constraints, while the printing and installation were complete by Service Graphics. Interestingly, the banners that blanket the concrete exterior showcase the victors of English Rugby over the years with the option to replace banners when new victories are achieved.

\nAntalis quoted Bayly for their post stating, \u201cWhen using such a new and untried product as KAPA\u00aetech there are never any guarantees as to how it will perform. However the results have been fantastic. Far better than we had originally anticipated,\u201d enthuses John. \u201cThere has been no weather impact, and the smooth finish of the KAPA\u00aetech board means we can easily vinyl over the top to create temporary coverings when required, which is much quicker and more cost effective.\u201d
