Chris Bamborough<\/a> is a UK born architectural designer with a strong background in digital communications and geographical information systems (GIS). Working for London-based Hawkins and Brown Architects, then computational design studio Supermanoeuvre<\/a> and Sydney-based architectural consultancy AR-MA (Architectural Research &Material Applications.) Additionally, Bamborough has a special interest in sound with allows him to produce electronic music and DJ in his spare time.<\/p>\n

The impressive award-winning and uniquely well-rounded designer, developed a series of demonstration stands<\/a> for lighting Organic Response<\/a>. According to Bamborough, \u201cThe brief was to create a foldable and transportable stand that could house a standard luminaire, and exhibit the ability of the Organic Response Sensor Node.\u201d<\/p>\n

Working with Supermanoeuvre, they created a unique approach that ultimately used origami folds, for easy transportation, and a Russian doll inspired storage capability.<\/p>\n

Computer generated in Rhino 3D, the stands were CNC fabricated using 3mm Dibond aluminum composite panels. The ability of the material to be manipulated and folded allowed for the concealment of adhesions and relatively easy assembly.<\/p>\n

Three stands were produced to promote Organic Response\u2019s Sensor Node in the US and UK marketplace.<\/p>\n
