In the summer of 2015, Mercedes-Benz in Macclesfield, a market town in Cheshire, England, approached the sign specialists at Spiral Colour to help in the installation and printing of their showroom graphics. The client needed a series of high resolution graphics mounted to the showroom wall to showcase to potential buyers the current offerings.
To ascertain the precise placement of the signs, Spiral Colour visited the site. This precision allowed the designers to format the signs to eliminate the need to cut on-site. The representatives at Spiral describe, “This made the rest of the process easier, as we knew what size to design the artwork for the graphics to. It also made the installation easier as the panels were pre-cut to size in our factory.”
To showcase the sophistication of the Mercedes brand, Dibond aluminum composite material was specified as the signage substrate. The high resolution car images were direct printed utilizing Spiral’s Jetrix 3015 press. They add, “By using the Jetrix we were able to create a brilliant high resolution finish which fit the brand image of the client.”
Additionally, the team created other signage materials for the showroom as well. These various signs were used for wayfinding to navigate the various areas of the showroom with ease.
After the prints were checked for quality standards, they were delivered in Spiral’s truck in order to further ensure safe arrival. The installers were vigilant as the representatives explain, “Our installation took due care and attention to ensure that all the graphics lined up and were affixed to the wall evenly.” Due to Spiral’s expertise, the project was printing, fabricated and installed with ease.
Dibond aluminum composite is often specified for interior signage displays for its light weight, rigidity, and printability. The durability of the sandwiched aluminum panels will allow the showroom signs to last without fear of warping.
