Arizona print specialists, ArtisanHD, recently completed a new wall print for local Scottsdale artist, Jennifer Hoffman. The team at Artisan has, in the past, specified Dibond aluminum composite for a number of local artists including Emily Randolph and Linda Enger.
The team at Artisan explains, “This piece was a great fit for Dibond brushed aluminum. We printed a small-scale sample, which became a large metal wall art piece, measuring 40” x 52”. “Life Out There” is now installed in a boutique furniture shop in Scottsdale.”
Jennifer Hoffman is not your traditional artist. She has had a series of unrelated careers including childhood acting and even licensed therapy, but the artist considers abstract art her “true calling.”
In an interview with ArtisanHD, Hoffman describes, “I am a stream-of-consciousness artist. My work is completely reflective of what I am feeling in that moment, be it joy or darkness. I think in tiny details and how I imagine the great possibilities of the unknown; of life, anywhere in the universe.”
This type of artistic expression has the unique opportunity to mean different things to different people as its content is more ambiguous than say realism. Whatever the artist is feeling when creating a piece may be interpreted abundantly different than the response of a viewer.
Hoffman utilizes the complexes of human thought as the context of her works. She utilizes art as a form of expression and therefore the use of color is a representation of her thoughts.
When describing her favorite works so far she explains, “Honestly, this Dibond piece with the brushed black metal frame is my showstopper.”
Although the artist utilizes color as an abstraction of the “deep sea, outer space, the supernatural” and various philosophical concepts, the “Life Out There” piece was a self-portrait. Hoffman further describes, “I did not know it before or during the creation, but it was obvious to me when it was complete.”
Abstract art often masks complexity. Hoffman further describes, “It is also universal in that the center of the piece represents that feeling we get that we are totally alone in this world; totally unique, yet still bound together by all of the forces of nature surrounding us.”
ArtisanHD was praised by the artist for professionalism and has continued to gain recognition as the go-to printer for artwork. The Dibond advocates progress their use of the material and encourage its use to produce high-quality, long lasting works.
