That’s where designer Fabrice Berrux, a French lighting designer, comes in. The designer got his start in the late 1980s with a design studio, Societe 18 Août, which created quirky and unusual objects. The joy of the late eighties came alive with a simple handheld video game device known as the Nintendo Game Boy. The 3.5” by 5.8” frame made the device the first handheld console in the Nintendo lineup resulting in a cult-like following and a wildly popular product for the video game company. German-based product designer, Moritz con Helldorff, and his team create furniture, lighting and other accessories. Utilizing cutting-edge production techniques, the team is committed to both “traditional craftsmanship and modern design.” In one of his independent projects, Helldorff created the Aluneed, a multifunctional closet space for the German consumer. The fully functional closet, according to Helldorff, is “designed to hold the clothes of an average German man.” (more…)

Wandering Sukkah Mobile Dibond Art Installation Creates Reflective Space For New Yorkers
Danielle Durchslag and Ryan Frank are New York artists and creators of the towering “Wandering Sukkah” for the city’s inhabitants. The art installation features stacked Dibond aluminum composite trapezoids that are vinyl-painted in various colors. The sky blue, peach, pastel yellow, candy and red brick geometry was modeled after New York City skyscrapers, according to the artists. (more…)
