Liganova, a retail branding company, has worked with some of the top retailers in the world to include Adidas, Tommy Hilfiger, and Mercedes-Benz. The company, back in 2012, was responsible for designing and producing a mobile store for HUGO BOSS.
Contemporary figurative painter Shana Levenson from Albuquerque, NM finished her Masters of Fine Arts from the Academy of Art University in May of 2016. Levenson has been painting in a full-time capacity for the past five years, but has always had an interest and special acclivity for art.
One of Dibond’s more common applications is as a printing substrate. The material is often used by print shops for photography and other artistic prints.
New Mexico Appleseed is a nonprofit organization responsible for the creation of the Parade of Playhouses, an annual design event aimed to raise funds for hunger, child malnutrition, family homelessness and poverous families in New Mexico. The nonprofit was instrumental in passing legislation for children to receive free and reduced meals in local schools, which has proven effects on student academic performance.
Dibond’s use as a direct painting substrate continues to grow in popularity amongst artists. Christine Mercer-Vernon is a narrative artist who paints out of a small dedicated space in her home. In an interview with 3A Composites Graphic Display USA she describes herself as a narrative artist, “Every natural object has a story, from where it begins to where it ends. Life and Death. I see poetry in the stark contrast between the two.”
Artisanal craftsman, Mike Robinson, creates bespoke furniture and housewares in the United Kingdom. Although Robinson specializes in wood and wood-based sheet stock, he often incorporates metals and plastics into his designs, depending on the client’s specifications. For this particular application he utilized various finishes of Dibond aluminum composite material for a series of point of sale displays for Red Bull in the UK.
Technipub, French printing and fabrication specialists, recently completed a Dibond art project using the ancient paper folding technique of origami. The technique in French known as “cocette en papier” allowed the team to fold the Dibond aluminum composite into a swan-like design.
